In 2008, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. After Dental School, he served in the US Army for 8 years, during which he earned several certificates in dental education and commendations for superb performance. In 2016, he settled in Virginia with his wife and two children.
